As the Christian Easter approaches in my town, I had a busy week. Apart from the household chores and other stuff, yesterday evening I participated in the event called “Calea Luminii”, translated as “The Path of Light”. It is an event held every year in Targoviste, on the last Thursday before Easter Sunday. It consists in lighting 2014 candles (one more than the present year) on the streets of the town. The event started as a unique and original idea but other cities in Romania took it over. Anyway, I was more than happy to be in the front row, with the camera in my hand.
 

As the evening fell and the church service ended, at approximately 9 PM, the archbishop of Targoviste lit the first candle on the stairs in front of the Metropolitan Church as you will see in the gallery that I provided. From here Mihai Serbanescu, a local artist, initiator of the project and his team continued the lighting of the candles. One by one, the candles caught life, and the streets of Targoviste were bathed in their light.
